Warrigal Queanbeyan

This project is a residential care facility for Warrigal for 132 residents. The existing home on site needed to be updated and expanded. The proposed building worked with the site conditions within an established village.

The building utilises a palette of materials common in residential construction to help create a facility that will feel like home for residents. Materiality has been used to create the impression of connected buildings from the street with the form becoming more sympathetic to the village at the village interface.

Internal courtyards with sculptural lightwells ensure that even underground basement levels have access to natural lighting and vegetation.
